Maldonado's Plan

Ensuring Accurate Records
The District Clerk's Office can leverage technology to ensure accurate and reliable records. By embedding tools into our systems that flag inconsistencies at the point of data entry, we can catch and correct errors in real time before they ever become part of the official record.
Improving Efficiency with Technology
Currently, Clerks are often working with an overwhelming number of platforms like eFile Texas, Envelope Inbox, DEEDS, Court Processing Page, and others to process case filings, orders, motions, and judgments. This creates inefficiencies and increases the risk of errors. If IT systems are improved, it will reduce reductant data entries, lower error rates, and save valuable staff time.

Court Support
The District Clerk's Office can provide procedural and administrative guidance to individuals navigating court records or filings on their own. I would focus on user-support by providing step-by-step guides for common filings and create a user-friendly website with videos and check lists for individuals navigating the different courts: Criminal, District Civil, Juvenile, and Family Courts.
Community Outreach
Nonetheless, Houston is a multicultural community with a variety of languages and ethnicities. That means expanding language access and community outreach to promote the services and resources the District Clerk's Office provides to our communities such as: Passport Fairs, Jury Duty, and Background Checks.
